FEATURES
VERSATILE FEATURES Master and Slave options. When used in point to point applications the Digital output and Analog output modules can be configured to be a Modbus Master to retrieve data from the Slave input modules. When used with a Modbus master such as a PLC, DCS or PC the Output modules can be configured as Slaves on the network. Modbus Addresses. Each module has a DIP switch on which the Modbus ID is set-up. Modbus Registers. The data is retrieved using the standard format for register addressing. Digital inputs and outputs can be addressed as discrete bits or as one register. Module Identification. Each module has a register which contains an identification number for the module type. This allows remote interrogation of modules to ensure the correct module is being addressed. Thermocouple and RTD. The type of temperature sensor being used is configured by writing a type number to the type register in the modules. The output covers the full range in °C. No adjusting of potentiometers or changing of components is required. Leading Software Packages. Most PC SCADA packages support the Modbus protocol and will communicate with MOD-MUX without any special driver software being written. This allows a multitude of simple and complex strategies that incorporate data acquisition, alarm summary and management, data logging and reporting, historical data collection and trending, and supervisory control functions.
